In her paintings Elena explores the idea of fragility as a prerequisite for strength. Greatly influenced by film, her images emerge in the figure of the anti-hero and in moments of failure, which hold within them a heightened sense of life – both in fiction and in reality.
Elena has just completed the Master of Fine Arts at the National Art School, Sydney.
